It's True...Only 42

As I promised in my post about the sweet scents of paradise, I only have to walk 42 steps to the water.  This is photo is taken from our upper deck above our garage.Just to the left of the photo is  the Plumeria  tree that exudes the sweetness I enjoy on a daily basis.

These next two photos are of the beach that is just there beyond the car in the first photo.
this is looking south east to towards Honolulu.
The clear water is very warm, as you can tell in the first photo
the highway runs along the edge of the beach. It has to be one of
the best drives I have ever had the pleasure of taking on a daily basis.

This view is to the North if you were heading towards Laie,Sunset and Haliewa.
This is the beach I wrote my friends name in the sand .
I walk this beach frequently, sometimes my footprints are the only ones in the sand, depending on the time of day. I love being alone on the beach, just soaking in all of the natural beauty surrounding me. I try to clear my mind and just enjoy the moments of peaceful ,lovely, paradise.

I want you to know that I am a firm believer in living your dreams. Living in Hawaii has always  been a dream for me, it's on my bucket list. Does living ones dream come with out sacrifice? No, nothing is ever really perfect, yes even in paradise. I will say that it is however, worth it...to achieve the dream. Maybe it's everything you wanted or maybe not, but the incredible part is the journey, not the destination.

I don't know how long we will stay in Hawaii, but it has been an incredible experience. I am most happy that I can say, it was one of my dreams and I lived it! I hope you will be inspired to contemplate your dreams...and go for it! The hardest part is making the decision, the rest will follow.

I did it! and I shared it with the ones I love the most....do you dare to live your dreams?

  10. My goodness Sistah!
I have been out of the loop for a while because of volunteering and helping my husband with his church calling, not to mention doing mine. It has been HECTIC but I think we know, in the end, when you do the right thing, your blessings are abundant even if you don't realize that immediately.

Can we trade places?? I want to be back by a beach and if it were only 42 steps for me, why in the heck would I leave? You stay put as long as you can. I know your kids must be so thankful that your dream is part of their childhood memories = )

My dream has always been to have a loving family. I have that now. I want to expand on that dream and wish to see my children serve missions and marry in the temple and have grand kids. That is quite a ways off right now, but I think my life is pretty satisfying right now.

Glad to be back reading my faves even if my stupid blog won't update!

  13. Trade ya...at least for a little while. We have a major Ozarks ice storm movin' in around noon tomorrow. This is the dreaded stuff that takes down electrical poles and our power with it. There talkin' three inches of ice and six of snow on top of it, so that beautiful warm paradise is lookin' mighty tempting right now. I could be persuaded to trade howdy for aloha, at least for a little while!!!

God bless and enjoy your day!!!

  15. Hi Brandi!
So glad to hear you are living your dream. It is so sad to see so many people living their lives everyday on the same rat race course and never taking the time to smell the roses, or the plumeria, for that matter. Just the drive every day that you take on the highway along the beach must be a wonderful gift. It is so wonderful that you are conscious of all your bounty and God's blessing bestowed upon you. It is also wonderful that you took the time to choose to make your dream happen. It is now called your REALITY. For most people, it stays just that, a dream. I give you props girlfriend, for having the courage to make your dream a reality.
I have a dream to live in Southern California. KA CHING!! If I ever win that lottery, I could live on the water there, maybe near the lovely Karyn at French Charming. If you ever did have to leave Hawaii and move back to where you lived before, then maybe the three of us could take walks on the beach together and share all of our stories and experiences. Who knows, maybe we could even share a cocktail with an umbrella on a deck overlooking the water in sunny Cali!!

Have a wonderful day living out your dream!
    XoXo

  19. Wow--yes the water is so relaxing. What an amazing view. I am curious what took you to Hawaii and what kind of business your hubby or you are in that took you there. i would be afraid I would get to a point of feeling like I was "just on an island" and couldn't just drive to another state but I guess if you are going to get that feeling there would be no where else you would want to be.

I want to let you know that I have a BIG give-a-way starting on Sunday and it will be really fun. I am calling it SPREADING THE LOVE--cuz I love my FOLLOWERS. There are lots of gifts, from really cool vendors. Each week there will be SEVERAL winners--that is right it will be going on all month long. So you can come back each week and leave me a comment, to put your name in.

You don't have to have a blog--you can e-mail me to enter your name.

Followers get their name in once and if you have my button on your side bar your name will go in 5 more times.

If you can double check your READER to see if you are getting my posts I would really appreciate it--for some reason Google has picked on me since the start of my blog and I always end up having them not post every few weeks.

    XO
    Cheri

  23. Dear Brandi,
I don't know how I missed this post, but I'm so glad I went back and found it, because those pictures are so fabulous - imagine being only 42 steps from the Pacific Ocean! I can hear the waves lapping against the shore, I can feel the wet sand squishing between my toes, I can smell the salt and the sweet fragrance of Paradise..."sometimes my footprints are the only ones in the sand"...oh! To have family is paradise, but every mama and wife needs her alone time on a beach of her very own!
